Kenmore 800 washer problems
Hello, i have a Kenmore 800 washer. Model # 110.29822800 Serial # Cy1040863. The washer starts to aggitate as soon as you turn it on. Then it starts filling with water. When it was working right it would add water first then aggitate about a minute later then continue to fill with water. Also after the spin cyle is complete it adds water for about 20 seconds or so. So now the cloths are soaking wet. Any ideas?? I saw another post on here that wanted the person to remove the two connectors from the auto sensor switch (the one with the clear tube going to it behind the fabric softner knob) . One connector had a wire that was blue with an orange stripe, and the other connector had a violet and white wire with a few others. I disconected the switch and the aggitator on the machine started moving as soon as i started the cycle. Do you think it could be the timer or the auto sensor switch? I have seen some post online telling people to replace one or the other. I am just unsure which one i need. Thanks for your help!!! P.S. the clear hose going to the auto sensor switch does not appear to be clogged. thanks... Joey

Landell , November 15, 2011Hi Joseph, Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life. This issue is most likely caused by a bad timer. From your description I think you removed the wrong connector. The connector you should have removed only has 2 wires a violet and a blue/orange. If you remove the 2 wire connector and the washer agitates as soon as it is started, the timer is bad. I am including information on this issue in the images below. The most accurate diagnosis of this issue will require the use of an ohm/volt meter and you will have to perform ohm checks and/or live voltage checks. If you have an ohm/volt meter and are confident in your technical abilities, please utilize the checks below. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services . Here is a link that you may use to view the parts list diagram and for parts purchases; Sears Parts Direct . I hope this is helpful. Check the things I have covered here, and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post. Landell |

Landell , December 19, 2011Melanie,I typically do not see the new timers failing. From your description you could have a bad load sense switch or timer. The only way to know for sure is with a multimeter. If you have access to a meter you can perform the checks I gave to Joey. Otherwise I highly recommend having a trained service technician evaluate this problem. You can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Below is a link for the website. I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance please reply to this post. Landell |
